School – the most important thing we have to secure our future

Preschools, schools and after-school recreation centres are society’s foremost and biggest investment in the future. It lays the foundation for the development of society and for a society to be held together. It also creates better or worse conditions for the future of individual children. Children are excitedly looking forward to the meeting with the school. Many parents are excited about their children’s meeting with the school.

If we can’t provide the support students need in school, society needs to step in with even more support in later life stages. Teachers have a difficult task to meet the different needs of many children and engage with new unique students with different hopes. Given the complexity of the activities, teachers and principals need good conditions for their work and strong support.

Equality and good school results have previously been the hallmarks of Swedish schools. Differences between schools and between different pupils’ school performance depending on gender or family background have increased in recent years. Equivalence is difficult to achieve with a governance system based on competition between schools.

The free school reform introduced in 1992 would open up new educational options. The idea was various cooperatives and individual initiatives with special pedagogical orientations. There were large school groups that saw opportunities for large profits. They are funded by tax money intended for students’ learning and development.
School and student learning is a marketplace with students as customers.

In the Vänsterpartiets school, there is no competition and you don’t compete for which school or preschool is the best. We have a higher level of ambition. High quality in children’s and young people’s learning and development is achieved through cooperation and not competition.

We want the school to be equal and a safe place where children and young people from different backgrounds meet and that the student composition at schools reflects different growing conditions.

Vice-chancellors, administrations and committees have the task of creating as good conditions as possible for realizing the national mission.
The joy of learning among children/students and employees is created by superior levels giving them support in the everyday life of learning.

Teacher density, teaching resources and teacher salaries are at the bottom of Sweden’s municipalities, but the municipality is one of the highest proportion of trained teachers. The co-creation of employees and the workload will be eased through more colleagues and smaller groups of children and students.

Like other activities, schools, after-school clubs and preschools face an overriding mission – to capture children’s and young people’s concerns about climate and the survival of our planet by deepening their understanding of the importance of different climate initiatives. We want schools, learning groups or individual teachers who choose to strengthen the work with climate issues to be supported in strengthening the work with climate issues in teaching.

We want an equal school with good resources and trained teachers, special educators and student health are central to prevent “honor culture” and destructive gang formations.

We want to:

  • work to restore equality and equality in schools
  • work to ensure that as many schools and preschools as possible in Karlstad are run under municipal auspices
  • expand the upper secondary school so that municipally run schools can accommodate the students who have chosen a municipal school in the first place and are not forced to for-profit schools
  • ensure adult education to be conducted mainly under municipal auspices where the upper secondary school’s premises and resources are shared
  • ensure that governance changes from performance control to analysis that clarifies the connections between what we do and what we achieve
  • ensure that assignments beyond curricula need to be reduced and the important work of the municipal cultural school must also be safeguarded
  • ensure that student health should be an obvious part of the students’ and teachers’ everyday lives
  • set focus on the importance of small special education groups in schools
  • ensure the school to offer free menstrual protection
