In our Karlstad, all citizens have the opportunity to participate. We want an inclusive and multicultural society that gives everyone, regardless of background, religion, skin color, gender or sexuality, the right to good education, work, housing and participation. An important part of this is that civil society is strong. Associations and NGOs must have the possibility of premises and financial contributions.

Karlstad is unequal. There are many different power structures that affect, and just like the rest of society, there are problems in Karlstad. Women and men do not have the same opportunities to shape their lives. Racism is growing in our society and it is also noticeable in Karlstad. LGBTQ people have a higher risk of being subjected to violence. We want to see a different society and a different Karlstad. We need to do more and get better, and fast. Karlstad’s residents should feel safe and seen.

We want to:

• work for Karlstad becoming a pioneer municipality in the work for increased equality and gender equality
• have an active work to make Karlstad an LGBTQ-friendly city
• provide multilingual service and local civic offices in our larger neighborhoods and in our crane locations, with service for both new and old residents
• work actively for integration
